  1. Michael Tams says:

Fantastic video - where do we get young men like this? God Bless the USA indeed, even though He already has.

  2. I had the privilege of meeting this young man yesterday at a picnic here in Lake County.

  3. I would like to thank this young man for his sacrifice. He, and many of my friends and family, have given of themselves to serve our great country. They should not be disrespected, especially by someone who is running for public office in this country. Mr. Obama needs a lesson in humility that only God can teach.

  4. Chuck Patterson says:

    I salute this soldier!

  5. Omar Sharrif says:

I salute Joe Cook, Sir you are a great American who speaks the truth, thank you for your service

  6. Darlene Clay says:

What a precious young man! Joe Cook could be a bitter man clinging to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like him (to paraphrase Obama’s mean-spirited comment).
Yet his patriotism and the sacrifices he has made are proof of the quality of the man. His commitment to fighting for the freedom of others should be an example to so many in the United States who take their rights and freedoms for granted!
With no bitterness or hatred in my heart I say: may Barack Obama be humbled and brought low for his disrespect. To Joe Cook, God bless you!

  7. Karen Hopson says:

Thanks to this young man for his service and sacrifice. Joe is one of the many American military who have always promoted freedom with their bravery. Joe is a true American patriot! Great ad.
I find it disgusting when left-wing nuts disparage the reputation of our military with their false rhetoric. Mr. Obama is quick to whine about comments about him or his wife. When will he call-out his liberal friends to stop lying about our military?
God bless Joe, his family, and of course, God bless America!

  8. I come from a long line of military personnel. My father & 2 of his brothers served in the Navy in WWII. My son joined the Army right out of high school. We need more men like this and this young soldier Joe Cook, for without them we have No Freedom. It is a right that has been fought for since the 1700’s through men such as George Washington. Times have changed, technology has changed. But we still want and desire Freedom. It is the American Way. All of our Military Personnel should be saluted and given more than what they receive. Support your military and your veterans. They deserve it for giving you your Freedom. They are all Gifts from God. God Bless America!

  9. Joe Cook: “When you call the Iraqi War a mistake, you disrespect the service and the sacrifice of everyone who has died promoting freedom.”

    Um…………………no.

Calling the Iraqi War a mistake is nothing other than an expression one’s opinion, of that war, and by implication, of the leaders who called for it, and wage it. It is in no way a statement on the individual soldiers who make sacrifices in fighting it, as they are not the ones who make the command decisions that made by leaders, and are fully capable of entering the military and serving in that war in good faith. One can criticize a President for going to war, and/or for waging a war incompetently, without disrespecting the soldiers who fight it, since the fighters are not culpable for the orders they are made to follow by their leaders. With all due respect to Mr. Cook, it’s unfortunate that he thinks that being against a particular war means “not understanding the principles” of freedom, and that any opinion that does not dovetail with his own constitutes “disrespect”. I guess in his version of the United States, in order to be respectful to someone, you have to agree with them.

  10. Luigi,

The biggest problem with Obama is that his believe that the war was mistake clouds his judgement at a time when our soldiers are still in harms way. Pulling out of Iraq just because he thinks the war was a mistake to start is a worse mistake. We are there and we need to win this war by stabilizing Iraq before we pull out. It’s the old adage, two wrongs don’t make a right.
